Understanding the Ingredients in Your Workout Supplements

The most hardcore fitness enthusiasts know that their workout results depend on what they bring to their sessions each and every time. Besides attitude, grit, and focus, you need to give your body sufficient fuel to dominate the gym. Pre-workout supplements from Obsessed Nutrition provide the energy you need to smash goals while maximizing pump, power, and strength.

This, however, doesn’t mean you should pick just any pre-workout supplement without understanding what is in it and how those ingredients can affect your performance. Let’s take a look at some of the more common ingredients we use in our pre-workout supplements.

Beta-alanine – This ingredient is a natural component found in the cells of our muscles. It is part of the compound Carnosine. In order to increase Carnosine levels, you should take at least 3.2g of beta-alanine each day. This dosage is key for athletes and bodybuilders. Higher levels of Carnosine have been linked to boosted muscle performance during lifting. Beta-alanine can be found in our Popped Cherry formula.

Caffeine – most people are familiar with caffeine. After all, it’s one of the most common stimulants known to man. Some studies have shown that caffeine is linked to increased focus and alertness. It can also reduce the effects of fatigue. Keep a careful eye on your caffeine intake from your pre-workout, particularly if you are a coffee drinker or drink soda. The maximum recommended amount is 400 mg of caffeine per day.

L-Citrulline – Your kidneys change L-citrulline into an amino acid called L-arginine. Arginine is an, in turn, is beneficial in creating nitric oxide. This compound helps increase blood flow and enhances how nutrients are delivered to your cells. Arginine is a valuable aid in delivering ingredients from pre-workout supplements to working muscles.

L-Tyrosine – Research suggests that L-Tyrosine helps produce adrenaline and dopamine, two essential hormones that might help to reduce workout stress. The research is not entirely proven yet, but there’s also theoretical rationale suggesting e — your mental clarity, focus, and perception of fatigue during a difficult workout might be improved by tyrosine.

N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine – This alkaloid provides therapeutic mood-boosting effects to aid in your tough workouts. N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine can be benficial to the quality of one’s training, and assist with fat loss while improving general concentration levels during your workout.

Understanding what is in your pre-workout formula is key in deciding which is best for you and your workouts. Having a complete understanding of the functions of different ingredients and their performance results is a necessary first step to a successful workout. Look for pre-workouts that keep it simple, with clear ingredients that you can understand quickly. Don’t shortcut this important step, and you’ll enjoy the benefits of very productive workouts.
